Terms & Conditions

The following Terms & Conditions apply for engaging the services of Electronic Repairs Australia.

Definitions

"We", "us", "our" refers to Electronic Repairs Australia and it's employees.

"You", "your", "the client" refers to the individual and/or entity engaging the services of Electronic Repairs Australia.

1. Diagnostic deposit:

A diagnostic fee of AUD $97 is required for all diagnostic evaluations. This is non-refundable but will be deducted from the final repair cost should the client choose to proceed with the repair.

2. Diagnostic result:

A diagnostic report will be provided so you can make an informed decision when deciding to go ahead with the repair. We will keep you informed throughout the repair process.

3. Parts:

Any parts that are required to conduct your repair that are not in-stock in our workshop will be invoiced to you and ordered from our suppliers once payment has been received. Shipping times for parts may vary and will be advised.

4. Service timeframes:

Our jobs are prioritised on a first-come basis. We have many jobs in line at any given time, and wait times are dependent on many factors, including parts availability, parts shipping times, complexity of jobs, and other factors that may be out of our control. We always aim to provide status updates on the progression of your repair and be as transparent as possible.

5. Service upgrade options:

5.1. Expedited service means we will put your repair at the first priority line and diagnose your pcb/device typically within 24-48 hours upon receiving the item and once the diagnostic deposit and expedited service fee have been paid. Repair will be queued ahead of express queue (pending parts availability - should all parts be in stock in our workshop, we will also conduct the repair immediately).

5.2. Express service means we will put your repair at the second priority line and diagnose your pcb/device typically within 10-15 business days upon receiving the item and once the diagnostic deposit and express service fee have been paid. Repair will be queued ahead of standard queue (pending parts availability).

5.3. Should any parts require ordering, we will advise and invoice you. Once payment for the parts has been received, we will order them and proceed with the repair once they arrive. As such, the repair may still be subject to shipping wait times which you will be advised of.

6. Device disassembly:

A device disassembly fee may be charged for whole devices (that is, entire electronics device intact and/or in its casing). This is due to some devices requiring extra time, tools or expertise to dismantle for reasons including specialised and proprietary screws / sealing, devices with restricted access by way of the manufacturer, devices with hardened sealing measures for safety or protective reasons or any other reasons that we deem may result in extra resources required to access the internals. A device disassembly fee may be applied for each of disassembly and reassembly. We will advise you prior should we think your device will fall under this category. Please note that whole devices with standard screws and sealings will not be charged any disassembly fee.

7. Postage of repairs:

Postage to and from our workshop is the responsibility of the customer. Any delayed or lost parcels should be directed to your postage service. We recommend using a tracked and insured service for peace of mind.

8. Invoice payments:

Invoices will be issued for the advised work and are to be paid as agreed (and/or as outlined above) and all invoices must be finalised prior to handover of completed repair.

9. As part of our Consumer Guarantee, we will ensure that all services are:

  1. carried out with due care and skill;

  2. fit for purpose; and

  3. provided within a reasonable time (taking into account the nature/complexity of the repair, availability of parts/materials & number of jobs currently in queue).

10. Electronic Repairs Australia will take reasonable care and precaution when repairing your PCB. In the case of unforeseeable circumstances, such as when some devices, circuit boards, or parts may be inadvertently damaged due to reasons out of Electronic Repairs Australia's control (including but not limited to issues involving their age, brittleness, being out-of-date/obsolete) during the repair or diagnostic process, Electronic Repairs Australia and its technicians will ensure clients are well informed prior and throughout the repair process.

11. Please note that in some instances, certain faults in your device/PCB could render the entire device/PCB unrepairable. This includes but is not limited to reasons due to complete device/PCB degradation, obsolete or unavailable components, proprietary aspects of the device/PCB preventing tampering or alteration of the components and/or coding (such as microprocessors or chips), where the repair cost will not be deemed economical or for any other reason out of our control that results in the inability to restore the device/PCB to expected/full functionality. This includes devices/PCBs where we have performed further diagnosis, iterations and further repairs after repair handover and full payment for the job has been received. Our diagnostic report will provide you with the full details of your device/PCB faults.

12. The client acknowledges that in engaging the services of Electronic Repairs Australia, we will not be held responsible for any personal and/or commercial costs and/or losses incurred by the client in respect to their device/PCB being inoperable. This includes but is not limited to costs and/or losses incurred in the purchase, hire or replacement of alternative equipment, inventory, human resources, business shut downs, utility, legal, regulatory or any other costs and/or losses that the client incurs and/or would otherwise incur regardless of engaging the services of Electronic Repairs Australia or any other entity for the diagnosis and/or repair of their inoperable device/PCB.

13. We guarantee all our work and if you are unsatisfied, we will happily rectify any issues, insofar as practicable and economical for both the client and Electronic Repairs Australia.

14. If your board has stored data or is capable of data storage, please ensure that all data has been backed up, as data loss can or may occur during the repair process.

15. Boards presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished boards of the same type rather than being repaired.

16. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the boards.

The above notices (14, 15, 16) are given under the Australian Consumer Law

17. Electronic Repairs Australia reserves the right to vary or alter any part of these terms and conditions without prior notice.
